West Coast Swing lessons with Blake Hobby

Every Tuesday night, Blake Hobby teaches West Coast Swing, an elegant lead-and-follow dance gaining popularity, at the Best Western in Riverhead, Long Island, New York. Trained in ballet, Ms. Hobby is a former US champion of the dance. Though West Coast Swing isn't as widely recognized as the Lindy Hop or the Hustle, it has been inching its way into the mainstream thanks to dancers like Ms. Hobby, John Festa, John Lindo and Deborah Szekely. The dance was also added to the competition on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" last year. Here, Ms. Hobby teaches amateur and intermediate dancers from Riverhead, Greenport, Baiting Hollow and Southampton on July 21, 2009.
